8700k High temps

Hwinfo says my max core temp was 88c while I was gaming. I'm running the 8700k at stock speeds and it's being cooled by a riing floe 240mm liquid AIO. I have multicore enhancement turned off. Core voltage is 1.24.

88 while gaming is hot for a 1.24 Vcore, though you might want to make sure it actually is running at 1.24V when under load, auto voltage settings on motherboards tend to be overly aggressive and that can cause high temps.

You may also want to verify that your AIO pump is working and that the fans on the radiator are spinning. A loose mount of the cooler could also cause high temperatures.

All that stuff checks out. I'm really hoping that it's not a seating issue or something to do with the thermal paste application. I had this thing built and i'm really not comfortable taking it apart to check. I'm in AZ so my ambient temp right now is like 25c but I don't think that would account for this high temp.

Well next thing to try would be a paste reapplication and reseat. It's either that or there is something wrong with your cooler or airflow configuration that is causing this, you should not be hitting 88 celsius while gaming at stock with a 240mm AIO.
