8700k not keeping overclock Z370-E Motherboard

I'v tried to overclock my 8700k with the rog strix z370-E motherboard and I am not able to do it in the bios for some reason, bios is updated as well, the only way I am able to overclock is to do it in intels extreme tuning utility and its kind of annoying having to load the overclock from a profile everytime i restart my pc.

Every Z370 board is capable of overclocking in the BIOS. You possibly need to change the CPU Core Ratio setting. Check any ASUS ROG Z370 overclocking guide on Youtube for specific settings.

Yes I know that and watched a tutorial on Youtube on how to do it as well it just didn't overclock, I'll try it again though.

Open a ticket with Asus there's been a lot of bios issues with the strix range.

Uninstall all oc software since it might be somehow over-riding your input

However some people are saying they can't change bios settings, there's a lot of threads about that on other boards too.

So it might simply be all about whether Asus has got on top of it yet. Only they can really post a bios fix.

Thanks ya i'v tried everything, I replaced this motherboard like 6 months ago and tried overclocking and couldn't get it to work except with the tuning utility and now i'm trying again I'll check if there's another bios update.

Also I didn't pay for Windows again since I de authorized my windows key on my last cpu and re authorized on my new one and windows is making me pay for another copy of their software, I even called them and they said there's nothing they could do so I dont know if thats a factor.

I'd open a ticket with Asus, there is generally nothing users can do about bios issues.
