motherboard : ASROCK I7 GAMING PROFESSIONAL Z370
8700K
16 GB 3200 MHZ VENGENCE PRO

I would like to know if this is a good voltage for my overclock, and if i should attempt to overclock more, so in the bios my oc settings are on 4.8 all cores, fixed voltage and oc mode, and im currently on 1.18volts, is this a low voltage for my 4.8 ghz ? should i be proud ?? lol i dont even know, i ran aida 64 for 10 minutes, no crashing and my temps are at 70-75c with a 240 aio. If i attempt 4.9ghz, what is the next step ? 1.22 ? 1.25 ? something like that ? and if so what is the lowest voltage to attempt 5ghz ? will it need to be atleast 1.3v ? considering 1.18v is pretty low for 4.8 ghz (compared to what ive seen online, people are able to get only 1.24-1.26v) so i think my chip might be a good one, the reason for this overclocking is i just got a 2080ti , and i want to be able to take advantage of all its power and not be limited by cpu .

That (1.18V) is quite low of a voltage...if stable, that would go a long way to keeping temps low, I'd think....

As to going another 100 MHz higher, that extra .10 V on core voltage often raises temps very quickly. (My own 7700K did 4.7 GHz on default 1.248 V at 72C, but, even a 100 MHz increase with .05V core jump took me to 85C...; naturally, stayed at 'only' 4.7 GHz)

Often, depending on GPU, that extra 100 MHz does almost nothing for frame rates anyway....and when that is the case (such as with my GTX1060, for instance, long since saturated anyway), what's the point?

so i tried 4.9 ghz at 1.24volts, and my temps jumped up to the high 80s. almost 90s. i dont think this is worth it, and high 60s, mid 70s at 1.18v at 4.8ghz is prefered. im sure my cpu could do 5.0ghz at 1.3 however i dont want it to run that hot, and im told if its only delidded will it be able to run safely over time

What kind of CPU cooler do you have? Generally speaking you usually don't have to get into delidding until you're getting closer to 1.35 for the Vcore, assuming you have a high end air cooler or 240+mm AIO. If you only have a midrange air cooler or 120-140mm AIO, then yeah, I wouldn't push much higher unless you get a better cooler or delid.
