Hi guys I just got my new PC up and running today and I love it. But one of the reasons I love pc's so much is to overclock and I did overclock my 8800gts 640mb to 600mhz and GPU Memory 870mhz. Well now it idles and 70-72c and it get up to 78-81c under load is this bad or do you think im ok or shoud just tone it down a bit. Here is a pic also.

Thanks for the help

yeah, you should definately tone that done a little bit. gpu's are supposed to be able to handle a fair amount of heat but i think 80 is a little hot. and i really dont think you need to overclock that.

what else is hot in your pc? are there any air flow in your setup? anyways i think its the card's problem, you might want to return and get another one if you can.

I do have good airflow and I think its because my room is rlly hot but im not sure. I but it back to default but it still runs hot!.

Also I used riva tuner and put the fans at 100 and it still runs hot!

I have mine running at 675/1000 and it idles at 48c and full load temps are 68c, but thats with running it with a Zalman ZF900, never had the stock cooler to start out with so never knew how hot it got.

On another hand i had a Thermaltake Duorb on it and i think it was defective cause with it the max i seen actually hit 100c.

So my overall settings with the antec 900 case and side fan keeps this really cool.
