8800GTS compatibility with Gigabyte M59SLI

Hi guys, I am planning to put together a new system, and below is the spec:

Video Card: Gigabyte Geforce 8800 GTS, 320MB, PCI Express

Memory: Transcend DDR2 1GB PC2 5300 1GB DDR2
667MHZ CL5 128Mx64 DIMM 240-pin
Or
Transcend JetRam 240pin DDR2-667 1GB DIMM 128Mx64 CL5

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+, dual core, socket AM2, 2.8GHz

MB: Gigabyte GA-M59SLI-S5 Socket AM2

CASE: Thermaltake Armor Jr VC3000BWS Black

I have been warned by my friend with this spec:

•The motherboard may not be compatible with the video card, as he have never seen any 8800GTS hooked up to a GA-M59SLI



He has suggested me to seek resolution here, so if any of you would kindly give some help, that would be very appreciated.

that board has PCI Express 8X slot. 8800 gts will work in your board but will run on 8X instead of 16x. But bandwidth provided by 8x is enough. So your good

I built a system, adout two weeks ago, GA-M59SLI, EVGA 8800GTS,Corsair XMS 6400(2gigs) AMD 5600+...Runs sweet, no problems..

Correct me if I am wrong ( :? )...but...this is what the board spec says
"Gigabyte GA-M59SLI-S5 nForce C51XE 2x PCI-EX16 ATX Socket AM2"

Doesnt that 2 x PCI-EX16 means both PCI Ex slots runs on full 16x speed?

My PSU is a Corsair 620, I am also, running 4 HD's, and 6 fans, in a full tower....no problems..

is ur Corsair Ram 2x 1G or 1x 2G ?
