890GX Hybrid Crossfire X with Sapphire HD5450

Will hybrid crossfire work with the sapphire branded HD5450 on a 890GX Gigabyte board, or does it have to be a Gigabyte branded HD5450.

I have a Sapphire HD5450 512MB DDR2 card that I was hoping to pair up with the boards IGP.

Yes it will work fine, brands doesn't matter so you can use a Sapphire 5450 with your on board card, but why do you want to do it ? Hybrid CrossFire won't give you a noticeable boost in performance, if you want to play games then go with a better CF setup(using 2 high end cards) or go with a single fast card

Yep I know it doesn't do much, but I'm getting the 890GX board anyways... And I have the 5450 just laying around, so might as well put it to use!
