Hi guys, I'm looking to buy a 31.5" 2560x1440 monitor for work, so that I can have two 1280x1440 documents/pages side by side at the same PPI of a 24" FHD. Currently I work on a 4K TV, but this is way too much resolution for me and I end up cluttering all the space :) I considered two FHD 24"s for a dual setup, but 1080p vertical is just too painful, and flipping the screen isn't good either - you end up with 1920 vertical (too much), and a narrow 1080p width (many websites are 1280p wide).

Anyway, after some research, I ended up with these two models:

AOC Q3279VWFD8
(a 31.5" 8bit+FRC "1.07billion colors" IPS panel)

and

PHILLIPS 325E1C (a 31.5" 8bit 16.7million colors" curved VA - curved because I'm afraid with flat 31.5" VA colors would degrade at the edges)

Which one would you go for? How big of a deal is the difference between 8bit+FRC to pure 8bit?
This machine is for work mostly, I was curious about VA because I would imagine text would be nicer to work with on a high-contrast environment. Also, I'll be editing my travel photos from time to time, and I'd imagine the colors to look 'truer' on a high-contrast VA, but wouldnt 1.07 billion colors be a lot better than 16.7 million? :)

Thanks!

Solution
8-bit + FRC is a pseudo 10-bit behavior. As you can see in the # of colors, that's better than "pure" 8-bit.

The additional contrast of VA shines when you're using in a dark environment with dark images on-screen. Think late-night gaming or watching movies. That shouldn't be much of an issue doing business work during daylight hours.

What about editing photos - won't the extra contrast help? What about the text appearing clearer (black on white background) even on daylight?

So you'd go for the AOC, corrrect?
