Question 8gb 3000mhz + 4gb 2400mhz???

I currently have 8gb ram ddr4 at 3000mhz.I want to buy another 4gb ram but the only available is at 2400mhz.What is going to happen if I combine 8gb 3000mhz with 4gb 2400mhz?? What is the mhz going to be?

Best case 2400 for all of it. Also very possible it just won't work at all together. Anytime you mix ram it may not work at all. The bigger the difference in those sticks the more likely they are not to work well together.

Thanks man, but what if I buy a single channel of 1x8gb at 3000mhz.will that work or it's necessary to have dual channel in order for the ram to work. I have 2x4gb right now and if i get 1x8 will it work?

IF it works at all, you should have those 2x4GB in dual channel and new 1x8GB as single channel and most likely all at 2400MHz. Check MB manual for placement of that extra stick and leave original set where they were. Reset CMOS/BIOS between changes.
