8GB + 4GB dual channel possible?

I'm looking to get 12GB of DDR3 RAM for my system, with a 8GB Kingston HyperX Fury White stick and the exact same stick in 4GB. Will dual channel work (on a B85M-P32 motherboard)?

Not a good idea to mix DRAM from different packages, they may or may not play nice together, if they do, then you'd be runnin in flex mode w/ 4GB from each stick running dual channel and the odd 4 GB on the 8GB stick in single channel mode

It will work, but you're better off going with the same stick size and model. The 8+4 won't run in duel channel so it will decrease your performance.
