8gb from 2080 vs. 11gb from 1080ti. Same price, which card is better to buy?

Two graphic cards at the same price, BOTH brand new:
1 is the EVGA FTW3 Hybrid GTX 1080 ti
2 is the Asus Rog Strix o8g RTX 2080

Ignoring noise and cooling (which both cards do pretty well), I see that both of these cards will offer very similar performance.

So which one do you think is better to get?
(Would the 11gb from the evga 1080ti play an important role in 4k games and eventually outperform the 8gb ram from the asus 2080?)
I usually play Tomb raider, battle field 1, gta 5, far cry...

Thanks for your input!
(Spec: i7 8700k at 5.2 ghz, 32 gb ram, 850w evga g2 psu, msi z370 mobo, 280mm aio)

VRAM might be a bit of issue at 4k but you can always dial down some setting that usually use a lot of VRAM to compensate. for example ultra texture will use lot more VRAM than high or very high but the difference is most often unnoticeable unless you try to make side by side still picture comparison. going forward the gap between 1080ti and 2080 might widen due to turing advantage in architecture. turing usually fare much better in DX12 (even the one without RT) and vulkan tittles.
