I've had some troubles setting up my new custom computer but I've finally got it up and running. Noticing that it was running a bit slower than I had expected, I checked system info, which told me that I have 8gb installed, but only 3.95gb usable.

I do have Win7 64 installed, however I did have 32bit installed earlier on the SATA drive I'm using (laying in a Windows.old folder.)

My motheboard is a MSI 970 gaming, with the RAM installed in slot 1 and 3, as mentioned in the manual.

The RAM I'm using is 2x4gb Corsair Vengance 1600mhz (CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9)

So, it's working now. I'm not entirely sure what fixed it but here's what I did:

I swithed places on my 2 RAM sticks, went into the BIOS and saw that the timing was different from what it was when the two was in the original places, so I switched it back to what the recommended settings was.

There was also a massive update for Windows that my computer installed automatically.

So either I just had to wait for the update, or switch places on the sticks and fix the timing manually.

Thanks for the help though, hope this solution works for anyone else having the same problem.

I reinstalled the most current BIOS (already had the latest.) and unfortunately it didn't help. Still stuck at 3.95 usable RAM.
