8GB-kit for ASUS P8P67

Hi,

I have an ASUS P8P67 motherboard with 8GB Corsair XMS3 sticks (CMX8GX3M4A11600C9 4x2GB 9-9-9-24 1.65V ver2.3) at home right now. Haven't put anything together in my new system yet.

Since I've learned that Intel recommends 1.5V VDIMM for Sandy Bridge processors I've been thinking of buying 8GB Vengeance sticks instead (CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9) for my new build. I also noticed in the P8P67 QVL (as of 2010/01/20) that using all 4 DIMM modules is not supported for the XMS3 sticks I currently have, and I've been seeing a lot of people having trouble with various configurations of RAM and the P8P67.

Alas, the Vengeance sticks I'm thinking of getting aren't even in the QVL at all. Yet when I browsed the Corsair support forums I read that the Vengeance series is the only Corsair memory series which are recommended for Sandy Bridge, which I guess must be because they're all 1.5V while most other sticks are 1.65V.

What I really want to know is this: What 1.5V Corsair 8GB-kit is absolutely certain to work with my P8P67 motherboard? Do I even need to get another set of sticks or are my current ones perfectly fine?

I have exactly the same board and i know for a fact that the sticks you currently have will work fine.

I am running a 1.65v 8gig corsair kit in my sandy bridge system at the moment and it works just fine but it doesn't run at it posted speed. Planning on upgrading to the vengeance set soon.

I just wanted to add my 2 cents on this since I also use the Corsair Vengeance. I bought a 16gb 4-stick pack that was advertised as 1600 at stock and overclock-able from there.

I had to actually overclock to get the ram to run at 1600. Just a heads up. I read many other had the same issue. I may have gone with A-Data if I had done better research before the purchase.
