8gb of DDR4 good for gaming?

1. I'm building a skylake based pc and wanted to know if 8GB is still good enough for gaming, stuff like gta v and the Witcher 3.

2. I also have another question, lets say i have two computers with the exact same specifications, but one has 8GB of ddr3 and the other has 8GB of ddr4. Would ram usage be LESS on the ddr4 system since it is faster memory? Or would it be similar ram utilization?

8GB is enough. There will be absolutely no difference in memory usage. DDR4 has higher latency than DDR3 (so DDR4 at the same clock rate is actually slower than DDR3) and has nearly 0% difference on gaming performance.

Usage is similar

For gtaV I recommend more than 8gb for high end

If you don't have 10 Google Chrome windows open and your system is clean 8 GB should be plenty. Might not hurt later to upgrade but you are ok now. Here is a video from Linus about the difference between DDR3 and DDR4. He basically says that right now there is not much difference.
