Question 8gb of ram installed but can only use 4gb

how can i use all of my memory? windows detects that i have 8gb of ram but only 3.5 or 4gb is usable. checked on bios and its only using 4gb worth of ram.

Remove the RAM sticks, gently blow compressed air to the RAM slots then reinstall them, swap the slots if necessary.

And did it ever work? What are the RAM sticks? Did you buy them as a matching set? At the same time?
