8gb plus 2x2gb in dual channel config

Can I use an 8gb stick of RAM with two 2gb sticks of RAM in dual channel configuration for a 12gb total? Using an Asus p7p55d-e pro motherboard and what about an 8gb stick with 3 x 2gb sticks for 14gb in total? All RAM is @ 1333Mhz too.

Check before buying, don't know of any P55 mobos that will take 8GB sticks. The P55 mobos are normally 16GB max in a 4x4GB config and don't take the newer 8GB sticks as they use high density memory ICs, where the 1156 came out with low density (2Gb) as the norm
