8GB RAM installed, just lost 4.8GB to hardware reserved

I have been searching for days to find a solution to my problem with my two RAM sticks.

My Lenovo G505s has been working fine with 8GB ram (2x4) for about a year now. But a few weeks ago, I decided to try out the HDMI output on my TV. Whilst playing a game (Rocket League, nothing intensive) I got a black screen and no button response whatsoever. The laptop fan was still on, I could hear the hard drive active and any external peripherals were disconnected. I then restarted my PC, thinking it to be fine. But while mixing down a session on Ableton Live 9, the PC blue screened and I got an error message that (when researched) told me that the RAM had essentially run out. It had tried to access the second stick and was denied. I then went into task manager to check it, and low-and-behold, I was greeted by this -

- I have attached my system details below. The system seems to recognise it has 8GB installed, and I understand that before this happened I lost .8GB to hardware, which is fine. But 4.8GB? None of the BIOS options everyone else has appears on mine, BIOS is up to date, tried disabling the adapter, tried each stick individually. Mysteriously, when one stick is booted in, it shows hardware reserved to be equal to 0.0 Petabytes. No idea.

Help?
