8GB RAM installed, only 3.25GB usable?

Today I went to check my PC properties for some reason and saw that ony 3.25gb of my 8gb installed ram was usable.

My system specs are:
amd phenom iix4 965 BE
amd radeon 7850(MSI)
Asus m5a78l-m/usb3
2x 4GB sticks of Kingston RAM

How can I make the whole 8GB (or close to 8gb) usable.

Are you running 32 bit windows. You will need 64 bit to take advantage of your ram.

Yes you need 64bit windows to use more ram.

32 bit can use a theoretical max of 4 GB but u actually get about 3.2-3.5

Just be mindful...32bit to 64bit is a full reinstall, not an upgrade.

As a clean, new install, yes.
