8GB RAM vs 16GB?

building a gaming pc, do i really need the extra 8gb of ram? im not too fussed about future proofing as i'd just buy more ram when the time came.

should i bother going over the 8GB?

8 GB should be good for now. On my build (specs in my signature), my RAM usage tops out at about 55% running Battlefield 4 with settings maxed. So for the next couple of years or so, 16 GB is overkill for a gaming rig.
