I want to run an 8k display .... I have a 2080ti working fine on 2 x 49" samsung 5120 x 1440 - but these 2 screens are not true 8k and curved and have their draw backs.... the card handles it just fine.......

I want to ditch those 2 and just have 1 x 8k TV

I have a Samsung Q700T Qled 8k.... it has HDMI 2.1.... i have a good cable but it says native 4k and won't show any 8k resolution or allow me to manually configure.....

so how do i make it work ?

That TV is a 4k panel using 8k AI processing (internal upscaling), it doesn't accept a true 8k input. 2080Ti does support 8k resolution via Displayport though. If TV could do true 8k, it would have been selectable.

Oops sorry im wrong. TV is 8k and has a 2.1 port.

Could try a DP 1.4 to Hdmi 2.1 adapter as DP 1.4 is capable of doing 8k but not Hdmi 2.0.

Oh you tried that exact adapter?

I don't think there's anything needing to be installed. That adapter should do it itself. Maybe try lower Hz and see if 8k is selectable. Or try mess around with chroma sub sampling in the graphics card properties.

How many Hz you running at? This TV only has 60hz panel. The 2.1 is auppose to be hdmi 4.
Though when I use xbox one x and put the hdmi in the eArc hdmi 3 I get the xbox and tv to take a 1440p120 signal. If it is actually displaying it I don't know. But the tv and xbox both say 1440p120.
I also own the 8k q700t. But just bought q70t as this 8k tv is not 4k120. Quite poor unless Samsung do some firmware magic.

60hz is fine for me, i just want for a big PC screen for market charts, don't need anything fancy just lots of real estate - the 16:9 dimensions of the screens now is lousy - too thin and too wide - where as this biggy takes cares of everything but only in 8k, in 4 it looks rubbish.

i called samsung they seemed to think all ports are hdmi 2.1

they couldn't help - they said phone nvidia, nvidia gave me the same link i found on google, can't get the windows 10 to upgrade now, so who the hell knows what it is.... (other than a total wind up)
