Question 8mb installed, only 4 usable. found issue, but need clarification please

Hello,
windows 10, 64 bit, asus p7p55d pro, i7 2.8, corsair xms3-1333 (four 2gb sticks). Have discovered through tedious elimination that the black memory slots on the mobo just stopped working. I need my 8gb machine back. Was going to just put two 4gb sticks in the blue memory slots that are working. Memory is pretty cheap compared to the expense and hassle of a new computer. I use this one for work. It has all my stuff on it. I guess my main question is...What memory should I get? Thank you!

for that board (and cpu) you need ddr3 ram
which is good cause its cheap.
but, for an i7 870 (which i guess is what you have cause it is 2.8ghz.)
ram speed doesnt REALLY matter.
just get a kit that has enough memory but isnt the cheapest one you can find
maybe g.skill ripjaws, theyre known to working and being compatiable with every thing.
