After a fresh XP install on a new hard drive, I had some serious
graphics lockups. I tried everything and finally after setting the AGP
to 4x, the system is stable. I'm pretty sure I was running at 8x
before, so I'm wondering why I can't run at 8x now. I'm using bios 7.

Fresh WinXP install... Did you re-install motherboard chipset AGP drivers?
DirectX9b? New video card drivers?

Yes yes, and yes. I'm using the same stable Omega drivers as before.
Got latest AGP chipset drivers, etc. I'm just going to have to live
with AGP 4x by the look of it.

Oh ya, I just put in a new sound card at same time as new hard drive -
Audigy 2. Likely the cause, but what can I do about that? Everything
working great, real stable, just can't use 8x.

Next Radeon driver, I'll try 8x again.
