new hard drive, older computer.

hard drive is st8000dm002, seagate, 8tb

mobo is m2n68-la narra 5

i can see 1.3tb in disk manager no matter how i slice it, formatted, unformatted, dynamic, basic, everything

i see it in explorer as 1.3tb

i see it in BIOS as 8000 gb (yeah this was the first thought i had to was outdated BIOS)

BIOS Version/Date - Phoenix Technologies, LTD 5.58, 3/16/2010

running windows 10

all drivers seem to be up to date

not really sure where to go, i assume there is some part of my rig that isnt capable of seeing all the space on the new drive, but not sure where to check to make sure.

let me know what else anyone needs to help trouble shoot this, and much thanks in advance.

EDIT
I HAVE tried gpt as well, I use easeus partition to see the hidden partitions and this program also shows 1.3tb

I also have learned that each platter of the drive is 1.3tb so why am I only seeing one?

Solution
Use a free partition software, i personally prefer minipartition tools, under your drive be sure it is gpt and not mbr, try to use this software to reinitialize your disk as gpt.
