I have an 8tb external works fine on 3 computers win8 and win 10s in my home but my main PC whenever im doing large file transfers it stops goes to 0mb/s thinks for a bit, wakes up transfers a chunk at normal speed and does it over and over. Takes 4x longer to transfer. I know its not the drive because of the other machines it does not do this on.
No other external drives act this way on the computer either only this one.

Any setting somewhere to make this buffer less or something

Hey there, mrserv0n!

I'd recommend you to check the USB hub drivers of the computer and make sure you update them from the motherboard manufacturer's website. Since it only happens on one computer, the issue must be either the USB port itself or the USB drivers.
You can also try to uninstall and reinstall the external 8 TB HDD as a device from Device Manager. ( https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc725782.aspx )

Hope this helps you. Keep me posted! :)
