I have a WD Purple 8tb internal hard drive that I have placed into a segate agent box. It was working fine until I deleted the partitions and tried to format it. Now only 1.3tb is seen. I've tried several different disk managemnet programs, I've used diskpart. It is inittilaized as GPT, bit I can't get it to show all 8tb. I have a Windows 10 64bit laptop. I know the full space is still there since I tried to install Windows 7 on it using a 9desktop, but alas, I still can't get all 8. Any suggestions?

Solution
Looks like I managed to fix it somehow. I connected the 8tb hdd toy non uefi dektop as the sata 1, not the "master". Booted ip the stytem, opened disk manager and immdiatly was prompted to intialize the disk. Once I initialized as got, all 8tb became available. No idea why I didn't think of this the first time. Hopefully this helps others that seem to have this isse as well. Thanks for your assistance.
Little bit of a nube here @jay32267. I am not sure any other way to repartition? I've used minitool, disk manager, diskpart. They all only see 1.3 tb. Could you please elaborate?

As mentioned, neither Acronis, minitool, diskpart, aiomis, or windows sees more than 1.3tb. the only way I can see it, is when I place the hard drive into a desktop, begin to install Windows, then click advanced options at the choose hdd step. Then I see the full 8, but because I'm guessing the system is not UEFI, I can't use more than 2 tb. I can post screenshots if you need. The laptop I have connected it to through an external USB caddy is windows 10, 64bit, uefi enabled. Even after initializing the HDD as a got, I'm still not able to see more. What other options do I have?

I was unaware that the the system wasn't UEFI.

You did the correct thing by initializing as GPT.

...and the way I understand it...if you aren't going to boot from it....your system doesn't have to be UEFI....but the drive has to be initialzed as GPT....which you did....so at the moment I am at a loss....will think about it....gotta run.

Thanks. I appreciate your assistance. I will await. In the meantime I'm having the dreaded temp profile issue. Aaargh.
