8th gen Intel replacement - format needed?

I am replacing the i3-8100 with the i5-8600k on my Z370 motherboard.

Do I have to format, or should it be okay since the processors are the same generation?

Windows should be fine. Just clear CMOS to ensure it picks up the right defaults
