Hey guys, so my old mobo has given in, and it's time to upgrade from my i5 4690k.

Main question, will 300 series mobos all work for 9th gen CPUs? (e.g. https://www.pccasegear.com/products/40508/asrock-z370-pro4-motherboard)

I'm thinking either i5 8500, or perhaps a i5 9600K for some 'future proofing'. Budgets limited though.

I'm using this website: pccasegear.com.au for all my purchases (CPU, Mobo, RAM).

If you feel like contributing overall to my build, feel free to, I'd appreciate additional input.

Solution
If you're going to start with an 8th gen cpu then pick either one, if you're going to start with a 9th gen you'll want a z390 or you'll run into a headache getting the bios updated

Thanks, I was looking at this z390, https://www.pccasegear.com/products/44254/asrock-z390-pro4-motherboard

As I had a asus pro4 with my 4690k, but its starting to die (sata ports dead, etc), but it lasted since 2015, so might go that route again, thoughts?
