Question 8x2 ddr4 3200mhz bus speed RAM shows 1056.9mhz NB frequency on CPUZ OR 1056.9 Mhz memory clock speed in the Ryzen Master. How to fix it?

I have 8x2 ddr4 3200 Mhz Bus speed RAM. I included the 2nd stick yesterday, and from then suddenly my PC stops working. It just stops and restarts. I use Ryzen5 1600 on Gigabyte AB350M Gaming3 mobo. After quite some research I figured out in BIOS that my Memory Frequency X.M.P shows 2133 mhz there, i tried to change it to 3200Mhz but it didn't work, as after I restart my pc, i checked it on CPUZ, it then says 1056.9 mhz. So, i turned on my BIOS again and slowly started to increase the Memory speed, and then i see the memory speed can be taken upto 31.33 which shows the NB frequency in CPUZ 1561.9mhz. But since my both RAM are 3200mhz bus speed, wasn't I supposed to get 3200mhz on the NB frequency? Can someone explain me the fact? Is it ok? Or else how do i fix it?
Here is my setup:
Mobo: GIGABYTE AB-350M GAMING3
CPU: RYZEN5 1600
RAM1: G.SKILL RIPJAW V 8 GB DDR4 3200 BUS
RAM2: CORSAIR VENGEANCE 8 GB DDR4 3200 BUS
GPU: ZOTAC 1070 AMP EDITION
PSU: CORSAIR VS550

I presume you didn't buy a matched set of RAM. Once you get into the higher RAM speeds on 1st gen Ryzens (I had the 1600X), they get flaky with RAM stability. I suspect unmatched sticks may be your main problem.
Do you have the latest BIOS update? The AGESA updates fixed a lot of those issues. My 1600X/Asus 350 TUF finally was able to run my matched set of 3200mhz RAM at full speed.

This is a typical type of problem that can come from mixing RAM.

I have the same problem, although I bought a dual channel kit. So my 2 sticks should be the exact same.

I did change the XMP profile like described on rog.asus here. XMP does detect my RAM as 3200. But then CPUz shows it as 1064.5MHz, and the windows task manager as 2133MHz.

I have an asus tuf gaming x570-plus motherboard.

Yup, me 2, bought a new Ryzen 7 3700x with g.skill 3200 mhz (The X version that is optimized for Ryzen cpu ) it is a matching kit sold as 2 x 8 cl16.
+ (old 1050 ti) that i still had. and works fine.

But then CPU-Z shows it as 1596.8 mhz
and not as 3200 mhz

I don't get it, wy we don't see 3200 ?? !!
we want to see what we payed for...

and yes i have them in the good mobo mem slots. A2 and B2.
only 1 stick also should go at 3200mhz right ? because they are bought 3200mhz.
so i thought let's pull 1 stick out, but they run both at 1596.8 mhz. does not matter witch one.
so i put them back in pc, start it up again, and still showing 1596.8 mhz

is CPU-Z only reading 1 mem stick ? no right ? because it should also be 3200mhz them !

so my 2, 2x8 3200, cl16 rgb g.skill's are running at half of what i should get. ! wy did i spent that money on fast memory then for my just couple days new pc !

or do i need to put them on 64.00 and not 32.00 in bios ? so i get 3200 mhz ?
btw i have a X570 gigabyte Ultra. and Bios version F5 = the latest.
but i also have more options in profile if i enable xmp profile i can put it on auto,

but there is also a
level 1
level 2
and lever 3 option's , what does that do ? i tried auto and i tried level 1, all give the same in CPU-Z info
1596.8 mhz, nothing more !
very sad ! for me and my just new build only couple days old pc.

can somebody help us ?

last option i will try, put xmp on offcource and then put them on level 3 in profile 1.

level 1 , 2 or 3 does not matter at all, wonder wy the levels and what it does.

yes we did, well i did. and it's even optimazed for amd use, the X version of g.skill 2x8 cl16

strange, i did a mem test when i installed win10, it did the test. run true it..

but just now i did winows mem diagnostic tool again, first i could press f1 to change stuff when it was running the test, now it was stuck at running test pass 9 from 15 at 21 % and overall 54%

could not press f1 anymore.

strange ! i just pressed escape and rebooted my pc, rebooted just fine.

but now i wonder if my memory is broken, or that CPU-Z software not showing more then 1600 mhz. maybe it's just the last one, and we all think that our memory is bad and not getting the 3200 mhz were we payed for.


maybe it's just a fail in the cpuid-z software ???

i have g.skill 2x8 rbg cl16 (X version for AMD) 3200 mhz. but that cpuid-z software only showing 1598.6 mhz i have it as my mobo says first A2 and B2 slot. oyea and the jedec fab standard says 2133 mhz on my modules. put i should get 3200 with xmp on profile 1, Auto, but there is a level 1,2,3 but i don't know what that does. i tested levvel 1,2,3 but that does nothing.

is it just a fail/ error in the cpuid-z software, that they can't read more then 1600 mhz ?

i think i see the problem now, i don't have the NEO version from g.skill, that one is for x570 ?

if you look at amazon, there u can see for what motherboard it is, so i din't know i bought the wrong stick's for other motherboard. and i have to get the G.skill NEO version for my x570 motherboard i see now.

din't see it on the dutch pc website were i bought it online...

that's because we bought the wrong g.skill sticks! i also did! stupid me !

WE need the NEO rgb for x570 mobo. not the normal rgb trident z they are for x390 and Z... Mobo's.

Your RAM is running at Double Data Rate (DDR). So 1596.8 MHz x 2 = 3,193.6‬ MHz. Darn close to 3200 MHz.

Your RAM is running perfectly fine! All RAM in CPU-Z will appear at half of rated speed because they are DDR (Double Data Rate) Dimms, meaning you multiply the given speed you see x2 which equals the rated speed of the RAM Kit. If there is a problem like with the first post here a RAM Kit with a speed of 3200Mhz running @ 1056Mhz, half of XMP 2133Mhz then something is wrong as it not running the rated 3200Mhz speed through the XMP profile. But remember CPU-z always shows the single data width rate, they leave the math up to you!

Are you sure you are saving your selected BIOS configurations, SAVE SETTINGS then EXIT? There could also be more than one XMP setting, though usually there is only one. Also DDR (Double Data Rate) will always appear in CPU-z as half the rated speed of the RAM kit. Yours should say about 1599Mhz for a 3200Mhz kit in CPU-z. I don't have to much experience with Ryzen or AMD at all but my Intel board shows RAM specific settings that have nothing to do with NB Frequency, they are separate settings with Intel.

yes that is true, if i look in auros app center on easytune, there you see it's running over 3200 speed. so it's working,..

but still...

You need, I need for a x570 board,
The NEO version one's from g.skill,
if you have a x570 board. and want to go for G.skill memory.

the normal, g.skill tridents z, are for x399 and other board's.
they do work in my system in x570, but should not realy go together, lol !

i gonna change them for the NEO versions, because the are for x570 board that i have, Gigabyte Ultra.

so for me it's solved now.., just need to look at there website and check witch mem you need.
if you have a 399 or x470 or x570 board. it does matter.

could get the wrong one's for your motherboard, if you only go to pc website and buy them.
