When I'm trying to copy (or cut or send) a more than 9 GB '.rar' file in a Transcend 16 GB USB 3.0 pendrive, it shows- there is no disc space!
But, after extracting the '.rar' file, the files and folders, which turns out to be somewhere around 11 GB, are easily getting transferred to the same pendrive!

I also tried to perform the same operation with other '.rar' files, again it was somewhere around 10 GB. The result remained SAME!

I want to know why it is happening. Please help me out.
Thank you in advance.

P.S.
1- desktop config- Win 7 x64, i5, 8 GB, 1TB

Solution
Most probably your drive is formatted with FAT32 file system, which has 4gb file limit. Reformat it with NTFS or exFAT.
You might have troubles playing movies off that drive - some TVs do not understand NTFS or exFAT.
