Hey guys! I'm looking to repurpose an old Macintosh classic with some new components. I'd like to replace the CRT with a 9 Inch HD IPS, but I'm having a devil of a time finding a good one that's not already in an enclosure. Trying to do this on the (relatively) cheap, so I was hoping to find one before assembly. Any leads you might know of?

Thanks in advance!

You will have one major obstacle:
- converting Mac interface to the CRT to something modern

I never owned a Mac, so I have no idea about internal circuitry of Mac Classic but I would say it will require a great amount of reverse engineering before you can get a signal you can feed LCD to.

As for parts: Check sites selling Raspberry Pi LCDs. You can get displays with LVDS and/or HDMI interfaces.

That's a great idea! It's literally the perfect place and I hadn't even thought about it. Thankfully, I'll be replacing the innards with a Gigabyte Mobo and AMD brains, so compatibility shouldn't be an issue, but that's still a great point regarding the old hardware. Thanks for the help!
