900p and 1080p?

I have a 900p monitor, if I upgrade to a 1080p one will the difference be significant, and should i upgrade?

There's a difference, but usually the color accuracy of the monitor matters more, so only upgrade to 1080p if you know the new monitor is going to have a better black level / contrast ratio, color depth, etc.

Does your current monitor have DVI or HDMI input, or just VGA?

Also, what video card do you have? If it's weak it may hurt your performance too much to be worth the switch.

Well, I doubt a 760 would lose a noticeable amount of performance from 900p to 1080p, so that's good.

I know some 900p monitors just have VGA connections, which are analog and therefore blurry compared to DVI and HDMI. Since you already have a DVI connection, I personally probably wouldn't upgrade. Maybe wait for an OLED screen to ensure there's really a significant improvement, because my brother switched from a 900p screen to a 1080p screen and apparently he didn't see much of a difference just from the change in resolution.

Well yes, there's a difference, but probably not worth the cost and if you don't spend at least ~$200 you'll risk getting a monitor with worse colors than what you have now. But it's your choice.

OLED is a form of backlight that's going to start being used in new monitors, which offers more stable edge lighting, darker blacks, and more vibrant colors.
