900p Monitor for Gaming?

I'm thinking of buying an Acer S200HQL which is a 20' inch 900p monitor. I'm new at PC's and monitors so this might be an easy question. If i buy a 900p monitor, can it display games at 1080p? Or is it only capable of displaying at 900p. I also saw a 1080p monitor at the same price but it only has a VGA port which is a major flaw for me.

Yes, the maximum resolution of that monitor is 1600 x 900 (900p). You'll still be able to run everything, just at a slightly lower resolution.
