Hello, I have been waiting for the 9070 series release before I picked a card.
I plan to game mostly at 1440p, not much Ray Tracing unless forced to.

I was thinking about getting a 9070 XT, but currently they are around 1k € where I live (Italy), with the Nitro version going for 1.1k.

Now the 7900 XTX OC version would be 1.1 k as well, should I just go for that instead or wait for the former card price to decrease If ever ?

honestly depends but the good thing about the

AMD RX 9070 non xt is energy efficiency. basicly less expensive to run since electric prices are all over the place in europe

I saw that review, but I wasn't interested about the non xt version, should I consider that over the XT?

honestly i believe the non xt is better it uses less power and thus less of a pain the more high wattage components in your pc the more heat that pc case has to get rid of.

case in point i bought a newer cpu from 5700x to a 5900x the heat from that cpu was actually causing my gpu to get really hot till i switched out the cooler air for water cooling.

my advise would be to get the non rx 9070 it will be cheaper and more in stock.

I have a 7900xtx. Here’s what I see

7900xtx, fantastic card. Better raw performance and extra vram vs the 9070 ct

9070xt

Newer, will be supported by drivers longer. Slightly better ray tracing than the 7900xtx. Plus it has fsr 4 which the 7000 series cards do not, however there’s rumors that they’ll possibly add that later.

Pretty hard to go wrong with either of them I think.

The 7900 (and maybe 7800) cards will most likely be getting FSR 4. I'd give it greater than 80% chance from what I've heard/read.

Edit - Now I'm hearing just the opposite. Because the 9000-series has FP8 processing acceleration, which is used by FSR 4, older cards (lacking FP8 processing acceleration) will NOT be getting FSR 4.

The 7900XTX? It decimates the 9070XT in raster by like 10-15% and the only lead the 9070 has is in RT which neither can really do vs an nvidia part.

At 1.1K I’d have a look at 4080 and 4080 Supers too as you get the 7900XTX performance in faster and better RT and up scaling performance.
