90nm 3200+ Temperatures

I have a MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum MOBO, with a Athlon 64 3200+ 939 Winchester on it. I have the Zalman 7000b cooler plugged directly into the mobo. I tried with the fan controller, but didn't want to rely on it being manually adjusted... My almost idle temp is around 36-42 degrees celcius. And while folding, that temp reaches 52. This is reported by MBM5. This seems HOT to me. I just built the system, and used Arctic Silver 5. I know it can take some time to settle, but these seem higher than stock temps from what I have been reading.... Case is an Antec Sonata (The quiet case) and I have both 120mm fans in it..

Same problem, as many others have had with the Neo2. Some have even put their chips in other boards and had normal temperatures.

Basically, get the latest 1.4 bios and you may see more reasonable temperatures. It’s not on the main bios page but is if you search for it here

...you will find it. It may be up I don't know.

My water cooled 3500+ went from idling at 42c to 36c and went from prime at 50c+ to prime to 44c. Now the real question is: is it cooler or are the readings more accurate?

Well, I installed the new BIOS. MBM5 still says my temp is around the same while idle... I dunno, maybe I just got a hot chip or something... The Zalman should cool better I thought.... 🙁
Of course, it is 72 degrees F in the room, and MBM5 reports the case temp at 17c which is like 66 degrees F so who knows whats going on. Doesn't seem like my case is hot.. Oh well, maybe in a few weeks after the arctic silver has settled a bit it will cool down.....
