91% Memory Usage causing slow computer?

Hey guys, recently my computer has been running very slow after having it running for about 1 hour. I mainly play CS:GO (Counter Strike: Global Offensive) and I used to run it at 120 fps steady with no fps drops, now lately it's been starting to lagg out of nowhere, I'm talking about unplayable lagg, FPS drops and constant game stuttering. If I would check my memory usage after it starts lagging, it stays steady at about 91%. Could this be the reason my computer is laggy?

My specs :

AMD A8-5500
4,00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 666MHz
Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. F2A75M-D3H
2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GT 640

Solution

Mechanical hard drives when filled up with stuff...

I'm not sure what you mean but I only had 2 google chrome tabs open at that point.

Also I'm trying to look for a solution to fix this but I have been digging the internet for weeks now.

Well is there any way to make this not happen so I can game in peace and not stutter every 2 seconds?

I'm sorry but I don't think this is the solution. Please take this seriously I have tried closing unnecessary programs already.

I was able to play games on this pc for 1+ year without any game stuttering and now out of nowhere it happens, surely there is a solution to this problem and not just basic info I already know myself.

If your memory usage is as high as you suggest then clearly everything isn't closed. Also just because you've been playing find for a year doesn't mean things can't change. You need to determine what is using the memory by opening task manager and sorting the applications based on memory usage.

i just had a similar problem using all the programs he's using plus 2 more on a brand new machine. it was fine until i loaned it to a friend who put the razer software on then the dang thing started blue screening due to 98% ram usage. i'm pretty sure there is a memory leak caused by chrome and the razer software but i was able to trigger it also with d3 and co 2 x2.

soon tried upgrading from win7 to win10 still same problem, formatted and went back to win 7 and everything was fine again. i had 8gb of ddr3 1333 and even tried 2 more brand new sticks at 4gb ddr3 1333 with no change in over loaded memory that when i opened google and tried switching between apps caused blue screens or randomly in 10 minutes or under in this combination with d3 and one co2.

once i formatted and went with a resh install of win7 and everything else but the razer software it was fine with the 4gb so i slapped in the 8gb again and it's still running fine.... i highly suspect the razer software of causing a bad memory leak and all the performance issues he is describing. everything was almost identical and was working great before the friend installed his razer keyboard and software just a few weeks ago. and i built this thing in sept and ran it twice a month for a week end at a time with zero issues running everything but the razer software with 48 chrome pages tm speak co2 x2 and d3 all at the same time and winamp and windows media player.

Mechanical hard drives when filled up with stuff tend to work slower because of many addresses. Therefore pulling information from a hardware becomes slower. That's why paging contributes to a big problem. Your system gets slower and slower. SSD tend not to be affected because of high transfer speeds.
There are lots of software/programs that you might have accumulated that may also slow down your system.
Proper maintenance is mandatory for fast running machines.
Anti Virus such as McAfee and Norton (most popular) cause major slow downs (high resource use).
When updating, installing, uninstalling programs can create left over files, mainly registry files. Registry files get left over can slow down your system alot.

Research have showed that Avast Anti-Virus uses the least amount of resources compared to other anti-virus protection. I suggest you switch your Anti-Virus to free Avast and uninstall your current one.

Also get Advanced System Care (Free), to clean your registry and many unused files/issues

Also perform disk defrag regularly.

Disable Superfetch under services and try this https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/3g9rnr/windows_10_high_cpu_and_memory_usage/ I can't remember which one worked for me when I switched to windows 10 on one of my lower end machines but it made a huge difference.
