920 vs. 930

Hello,

I know most of the peeps on the forums know but, I'm having difficulty finding the answer. What is the difference between the 920 and the 930? Any articles that can be linked that explain the difference in detail? Is the difference worth $40 (which is what I'm finding the cost difference to be in my area)?

The difference is just a speed bump.

Both processors are built with the same architecture but i7-920 is clocked at 2.66GHz and i7-930 is clocked at 2.80 GHz.So, basically the 40$ difference represents the 0.14GHz difference in frequency.Also, both processors overclock very well.

Both are very good overclockers and comparable in performance at stock speeds.

Get any of those.

930 just fills in the gap between the 920 and 940... All have same architecture just have small bumps in thier in the stock clock speeds but everything else is same. On Newegg the price difference is like 6bucks if i am not mistaken from what I saw earlier...i .14GhHz isn't a big speed bump at all, infact you can clock a 920 to that with no problem...but for 6Bucks lol what to even think about.

Incorrect.

Intel site lets you compare them directly, they are exactly the same, except the 930 uses a slightly higher mulitX/

Really? Where did you get that from, on Intel is shows they are exactly the same...except for a higher clockrate bump ofcourse.
