95%-99% RAM Usage at idle

Every 20-30 minutes or so, my RAM usage spikes up to 99% for a few minutes and goes back down. I've run virus scans, cleaned up my computer, and in general just a cleaning, but this problem persists. My theory is that a program has a memory leak, but I could be wrong. Please help?

When there is a ram spike, open the task manager. In the processes tab, make sure 'show processes from all users' is check. Then click where it says memory to sort by memory usage and note which process(s) is using all your memory. After you find out the process using your ram, then you can decide what to do next.

I have done that, and they are all in a reasonable usage. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Which windows version is it and are all updates/service packs installed?

Did you use the ressource monitor?
