While browsing the internet, I suddenly felt a huge drop in performance. As in, super laggy performance, coming from the PC I built no less than a month ago. I opened up task manager to see what was happening, and apparently I'm hitting 95% memory usage on the computer, even though I only had 3 tabs of Firefox and Skype open. I listed all the processes and sorted them by memory usage, and Firefox took the most, at 78.8 MB.

I don't understand what's using 95% of my RAM. I hear that sometimes Windows 8 does that, but I already set the BOOT maximum to 4096MB.

My setup:
Intel i5-4670k
MSI Z87-G45
Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600 MHz CAS11
Powercolor 7870 MYST
Corsair CX750M

In task manager, click "Show processes from all users".

you probably have a virus or some kind of malware.
You should run a scan with MalwareBytes its one of the best anti malware, and will most likely pick up your problem, had a similir thing a while back.

In task manager, click "Show processes from all users".
I'm not sure what you mean by "I already set the BOOT maximum to 4096MB", but the default settings should be correct. "Fixes" from the internet are not always helpful.
