9500 gt graphics card only works for a minute

Hello,
I recently have been trying to install a nvidia 9500 gt 1GB graphics card on my computer but when i start the computer the screen turns on and starts to boot for about a minute then goes blank.
I have a windows 7 64 bit computer with AMD Athlon II X2 Dual-Core 260u 1.8GHz processor
i upgraded the power source
anything that can help would be great thanks

What card did you have before? Are the drivers for that card still installed?

Just the card that was integrated witht he motherboard
its a nvidia Gfource 6150 se
and that one works fine whenever i take my new card out that one will boot just like normal

I have tried starting it in safe mode and several other things its pretty hard to do anything when you only have a minute or less that the screen works
