Ok I have problems loading some maps in BF1942(ie Brocage). Before the map finishes loading, my comp would restart. Not only that, but after it restarts, it doesn't load up windows. I just have this black screen with some text saying something about firmware.

The only way to fix this is if I hold the power button and restart it that way. Then after I load everything back up, I get an error that says the system just recovered from a serious error. And now just recently, I started getting cmos setting errors on bootup(even if I choose to run default settings). The only way to load up windows then is through safe mode, and then I get another error saying that the problem is the vid card.

Any ideas why? I'm running on an amd 2000+ 512mb ddr and 9500pro. Also I have a 350watt power supply.

Well, is the fan working properly? Is your power supply reliable and in good shape?

nVidia cheated on me so I left her for ATi. ATi's hotter anyway...

The 9500 sucks a lot of juice. Check your voltage rails in the bios. If it's a generic psu, or older than a couple of years, replace it. Loosing your rig over a $50 part is just bad.(not like I haven't done it though)

BF1942 is notorious for crashing computers while maps are loading. I know exactly what your talking about. Desert Combat does it also. It did it with my 9500Pro, and my Ti4200. Get the latest patches for the game or reinstall, then patch it.

I help because you suck.
