9600 gt gddr3 vs gt 730 gddr5

I have this 9600 gt until now. I know this card is already a legacy but its still working so im still using it. Now to the topic. I saw this nvida gt 730 gddr5 and im wondering if this is a good upgrade. Im not playing hardcore games. I only play dota 2 and gta 4 thats all. So should I stick with my old card or should I buy this new gt 730?

the gt730 should perform better and it has twice the vram as the gt 9600 you should get a noticeable performance boost in games but not a huge one

they are fairly similar in performance


so not worth it, more of a side-grade


get at least a gtx 750

for a few more bucks you could get the r7 250 witch would be a pretty good increase in performance

But unless his card died and he's looking for a new one he's going to spend money and not see any improvement. As above, more of a sideway "upgrade". If the OP is happy with the frames he's getting I'd honestly just keep using that 9600GT and wait until you have a need for more GPU.

what part of they are similar in performance did you not understand?


he wont see much of an improvement, it is not worth it at all to spend the money

the gtx 750 would be more than he needed and if he is looking at gt 730s then his budget probably isnt that big the r7 250 should be plenty for like$10-$20 more
