9600gso Sli and powersupply

HEY!
I need help deciding if sli would improve performance much... Ok so my systm now:
E5200
9600gso 384mb
650i
400watts

Ok first, if i bought another 9600gso how much improvement would i see in games like crysis...
Second, can my card by SLId with a 768mb version even though it is ddr2 mine is ddr3???
Third, my power supply has ran sli perfectly before, but with older cards... is this enough???
fourth, how much performance drop will there be in dual 8x sli pcie slots comapred to 16x pcie sli??

I don't think your power supply can handle another.

First: Some, Crysis does like Nvidia hardware but you might find the benefit reduced by the small 384 Mb frame buffer.
Second: Do n't know but I would not risk it unless the supplier will accept a return if it does not work.
Third: No.
Fourth: None, only high end cards would suffer any noticeable loss of performance.

the cost of getting a new PSU ($80 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139004) + a new 9600gso ($80) can be comparable to what a single gtx260-216 costs nowadays ($160 after rebate).

assuming your 400watt PSU is comparable to a corsair cx400, and dont have 5 hard drives connected, you can give a 260-216 a go.

or even a 4830 if money is an issue, ive seen them for $80.

i have a dynex 400 watt power supply, its acually one of the best 400watters...

Its a Dynex 400 watt psu, very good quality for its age/watts...

Most gtx260's are around 170-180. Add in a rebate and it'll probably be right in your price range.
