[SOLVED] 9600k or 2600x for gtx 1080 ti

Hey guys,
I need some help on deciding whether I should purchase a 2600x or a 9600k for a 1080 ti. I will be playing on a 1440p 144hz monitor and I play mostly AAA games.

The i5 has better min/max FPS under most cases and would make the most sense for getting the most out of a 144Hz monitor. AMD may become a more viable option for high-refresh gaming with Zen 2 next year.
