Very pleased with my 9600Xt but for one thing. After loading Smartdoctor a
message began coming up saying the fan had stopped. I have observed that the
fan will run for 10 seconds then stop for 4 seconds not varying from that
sequence. Would the the fan be faulty or is there an adjustment required?

Thanks

Seems to me that it might be perfectly normal depending on how the fan
control is set. Have you looked in the Setup > Fan Control tab in
SmartDoctor to see how the fan is controlled? The important thing is that
the temperatures stay within the normal range under all operating
circumstances and if that is true then there should be nothing to worry
about.

You are correct John. I fixed the problem. The clue was the consistency in
the stop-start sequence. The Smartdoctor on the cd which came with the video
card was an old version. Downloading the latest one was the answer!
