Just got my 9600XT, and I've been trying to overclock using RivaTuner, PowerStrip, and the overdrive thing. So after I set it to what I want to overclock to and save that setting and try to open up a benching program my screen just goes black and nothing happens. What is this?

How much are you trying to overclock to? You may be going to far.

Like 10mhz on the core and 10mhz on the memory. I upped the AGP voltage to 1.6v and it seems I can run it with it overclocked that much, but anything over 15mhz oc then my computer freezes. I tried 1.7v didn't help.

I'm running a BBA 9600xt @ core 554mhz and memory 702mhz

just finished running 3d mark 2001se

I'm prolly doing something wrong as I'm just getting into this overclocking thing

think I should take it higher?

it's still running at 33C

amd 2000+
gigabyte ga-7va
512mb samsung pc2700(2x256mb)
maxtor 60gb 7200rpm

soundblaster live 5.1
BBA radeon 9600xt 128mb
antec 550w true control

Hmm...thats really high, good overclock. But if you want to get the most out of it, keep overclocking by 2-3mhz and running the benchmark until it freezes. I suggest using 3DMark03 and Aquamark3.
