My motherboard, whenever I boot up my system, always does its single *beep* to let you know that it booted successfully. Well, it's starting to get annoying. Is there any way of stopping that?

Need more information. What motherboard do you have? When does the beep occur? After POST or after windows is running.

Also, as a side note, is it a short beep or long beep. Mine gives a couple long beeps at first because my cpu fan does not start up right away.

That single beep means the POST went successfully. It's a good thing. If you want to get rid of it then disconnect the speaker cable from the F-Panel on the motherboard. The beeps inform you of the POST status. So if your videocard or memory is bad you'll get a different sequence of beeps that can help you troubleshoot. I usually recommend keeping it on but if a 1 nanosecond beep makes you pull your hair out, then disconnect it.
