970 bottleneck questions

Hey guys,
For Christmas this year I am thinking of upgrading my computer by adding another gigabyte geforce gtx 970 g1 gaming to my build for some sli action. But before i go through with the purchase i have some questions because i do not want to blow 300$ on something that might not even benefit my builds performance for my needs. First off is the bottleneck, i currently am rocking a single 970 with my i7 4790k. If i add another 970 will this cause a bottleneck or would I be ok? Also will my evga supernova 750w g2 psu be able to handle this? Lastly what will this help performance wise. I play a lot of high end video games that demand a lot of graphics power and I recently picked up black ops 3 and i cannot max it out, almost can but it is a little bit leggy if i do and i like it perfect. And i am also concerned about future games, will this help my computer run games in the far future that are probably going to be very graphics demanding? Also i used to do some sony vegas and rendering and stuff and i might get back into that so will it help with that? I play on a 1080p monitor and usually play on 1920 by 1080, will this make it so i can upgrade to a monitor with a better resolution, even though i do not plan to as I am fine with my asus vg248qe. Any answers are appreciated and i need info quick as i do not have much time before i have to make my decision. Thanks.

First of all two 970's won't bottleneck an i7-4790k so you're fine there. Second of all could you list your complete build so i can see if you need a psu upgrade or not?

And third, dont compare black ops 3 or also assasins creed syndicate, since it is not your fault you cant max them out, that games are horrible pc ports and run not good even on highest End hardware.... Well if you have the time try to sell the 970 and then buy a 980ti since not every game works well with SLI

First of all two 970's won't bottleneck an i7-4790k so you're fine there. Second of all could you list your complete build so i can see if you need a psu upgrade or not?

If you are doing a second 970 you should be fine with that psu as you'd be closer to 500 watts. If you want you could go to a 850W to play it safe. A 980 ti is also a great option if you want to go with one card over an sli config (It would work alot better in most games) plus you get 6gb vram instead of 4gb.

Sounds like a good idea but im not sure if i would have time to sell it do you recommend any places i could sell it really quickly? And are there any pluses of having the sli rather than the 980 ti?

Would you highley reccomend the msi one or do you think the evga sc one would be better. I have a red scheme on my computer so i think the msi would look better but which do you think would be better?

It's up to you EVGA has amazing warranties on their products and make some pretty high quality stuff. I have the msi one and I love it (I also have a red and black theme). Also the msi 980 ti has vrm cooling which I like because not alot of aftermarket coolers have it and it's very nice if you're overclocking. I don't know if evga's acx cooler does. MSI has backplate, ACX does too if you buy the back plate variant.

What do you think about gigabyte, i had their 970 g1 and its an amazing high quality card with a back-plate, 3 wind-force fans for overclocking, and all. I see the 980ti g1 is just about the same except for of coarse the vram and cores and stuff like that and also they finally made it so you can change the color of the led wind-force insignia which is what really pisses me off about my current card as it is blue and my build is red. The cards are a bit long from gigabyte but they fit in my case if i take one of the hdd cages out. What do you think about gigabyte?

I actually had the gigabyte g1 980 ti for a couple weeks and loved it. It's a beast when it comes to overclocking and stays very cool as well despite being air cooled. If you like your current gigabyte g1 card then I say go for it.
