970 evo not detected in windows

Hi guys, so I recently got a 970 evo 500gb and put it in my msi z370 gaming Pro carbon motherboard, however when I go into windows and check the file explorer I can't see the drive under my pc, anyone know what could be the problem. Thanks for the help in advance,

Does it appear in Disk Management?

If it appears in disk management, it could be that the drive is new and unformatted. If so format it, and it should work.

Go to disk management in this pc , initialize the drive and format.
