970 evo vs NVME WD Black

Hello, I'm not sure if this has been answered before (couldn't find conclusive answer), but I wanted to ask owners of either the 970 evo or the NVME WD Black how they compare and which is the superior option. I'm looking at the 500 gb version, and the price difference between the two is less than $2, so I want to judge solely on performance. Which would you pick?

Samsung is the better choice at the same price. Samsung SSDs have long been both the fastest and most reliable. Usually for a price premium over other brands.

Doesn't Tom's have a review? Check Newegg and Amazon for reviews. Also anandtech, arstechnica, etc.

Unless you're in some millisecond critical environment I bet either would be great.
