970 Mini Crashing (Black Screen)

While playing games with quite heavy graphics, my GPU (970 MINI) will eventually crash to a black screen and sometimes restart before crashing again and staying on a black screen which I then have to restart my PC to fix. I've got a dual monitor setup and disabled one monitor but that did not help. My temperatures for my CPU and GPU never really go high at all. I have a Coolermaster 550w 80 plus gold PSU which I think might be the problem. If I tone down the graphics for some games the problem goes away. I have the latest nVidia drivers but have the gefore experience program uninstalled as it made games (cs:go for example) not seem smooth despite high fps. My other specs are:
CPU: i7-3770k (3.5GHz)
MOBO: Asus P8Z77-M Pro
Memory: Kingston Hyper X Fury 16gb (4x4)

If this is a PSU problem, can someone suggest a PSU which would be able to fix my problem?

i had this issue with normal 970 all i did was turn down OC and memory down to the lowest settings in GPU tweak and i havent had an issue since, seems as though the card cant handle itself
