970 or 990FX

Most people say the main difference between these boards is SLI/CrossfireX support but the 970 board I'm looking to buy says it supports that stuff. If I'm going to Crossfire 2 cards and may overclock my FX8350, should I get the 970 or spend a bit more to get a 990fx?

There is only a few decent 970 motherboards that happens to support SLI. The 990FX motherboards are generally more well built than the 970 so overclocking a FX 8350 shouldn't be a problem on these motherboards.

Get a 990fx, better compatibility, often more voltage regulator modules (at least 8+2) better cooling and newer bios versions for newer pcie graphics card.

(Otherwise I suggest an Intel 1150 setup)

Definitely go for the 990FX board. And I second photonboy's recommendations...especially the Gigabyte one (very nice board, have one for my 8320)...
